NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Newark police have confirmed that a missing 8-year-old girl has been found safe at Newark Penn Station.

A frantic search was underway all day Sunday for 8-year-old Nevaeh Blaine, who went missing while walking to the grocery store.

Blaine was last seen just before 10 a.m. Sunday as she was headed to the grocery store after leaving the courtyard playground in her housing complex on Maybaum and Tremont Avenues.

Officials held an update on her whereabouts:

A store worker told Eyewitness News she is not sure if Nevaeh came in the store at all, since many come in and out.
