FRESNO, Calif. -- The family of a Fresno man murdered this weekend is tearfully awaiting the arrival of his unborn baby. His sudden death and the circumstances surrounding it are making it very difficult to celebrate the birth.

Tom Yue had worked as a cook in Chinese food restaurants. But lately wasn't bringing in a lot of money. His father is accused of shooting him to death, leaving his pregnant wife, young son, and elderly mother to survive without him.

Flowers and incense mark the spot where Tom Yue's life ended Sunday after a heated argument with his father. Fresno police say 72-year-old Samuel Yue shot his son several times in the family's front yard. The unexpected death has left Tom's widow without much in the house where the crime scene is a constant reminder.

Family friend, Alysia Carrera, said, "I know that she is also very heartbroken that she is going to be going through this new chapter in life by herself and not being able to experience this second child with him at her side."

Friends say Tom Yue was recently without a steady job. Despite this hardship, neighbors say he was always a wonderful and patient father to his 2-year-old son.

Neighbor, Hermine Piloyan, said, "Every single night he had a bike and he would have an attachment behind the bike. He would put his kid inside that bike, drive around the neighborhood so he can fall asleep. He was an amazing father. It makes me cry."

Friends are trying to raise money to help the family get through the next few months. The couple started buying a few outfits to welcome their baby boy, but didn't get around to necessities yet, like diapers and wipes. Tom's wife and mother are struggling with their new reality and the challenges that await.

"They want to support each other, they want to stick around and help each other out as much as possible but with what little they have and so us our group of friends decided this is our opportunity to help Tom because he would have done it in an instant for us."

Friends have set up a GoFundMe account to help with expenses. They are also accepting diapers and baby items.
