8-year-old girl writes notes to thief who ransacked home
"We are sad that you have been stealing in this house," the girl wrote.

LAKE WORTH, Florida -- An 8-year-old Florida girl is hoping a letter she wrote will teach a thief a lesson.

Someone broke into her parents house last month just days after moving into their home.

Alberthina Son said someone broke into their home while she was taking her daughter, Wendy, to school.

"When I come back, I saw the door open and I was scared," Son said in an interview with WPBF.

Police said a thief ransacked their home and stole jewelry, clothing and a tablet.

Days after the burglary, little Wendy wrote a letter to the thief and taped it to the front window. Wendy said she wanted the person responsible to see the message if they happened to come back.

"This is for the robbers. Please do not steal in our house. There are good kids and people in this house. We are people that do not steal. We are sad that you have been stealing in this house. You are not the only one that has feelings. We all do," Wendy wrote.

Wendy said she hopes that the thief will change and not steal again.

"I hope you will change and be good. God will forgive you," she said.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family.
