NJ Governor Christie takes the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for the ALS Foundation

NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie proved himself a good sport for a good cause.

On Tuesday he posted a video to his Facebook page showing two of his kids dumping a bucket of ice water on his head.

It's all part of the Ice Bucket Challenge, launched by the ALS Foundation to raise money for fighting ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

After a good soaking each participant then nominates three other people to complete the challenge within 24 hours or donate $100. Christie's picks: Democratic New Jersey U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has raised some $4 million for the ALS Foundation since July 29th.
