Gunman on bicycle fatally shoots man parked outside his house in Wyandanch, LI

WYANDANCH (WABC) -- Police in Suffolk County are investigating the shooting death of a man parked outside of his house in Wyandanch Saturday night.

Investigators say Vernon Brown was sitting in the passenger seat of a car with a friend in front of 74 S. 31st St., when a male on a bicycle approached the car and fired one shot into the vehicle, hitting Brown. The bicyclist fled the scene.

The friend drove Brown to a house on Levey Boulevard in Wyandanch where another friend called 911 at approximately 5:55 p.m.

Brown, 32, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
