Tattoo photo released to help ID headless body
David Navarro reports on the NYPD trying to identify the body found in Red Hook Channel.

RED HOOK CHANNEL, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police have released an image of a tattoo in the hopes of identifying a headless body found in the Red Hook Channel Tuesday.

NYPD officers responded to reports of a woman's body found floating in the water around 11:30 a.m.

The body was recovered, and authorities say the victim was missing a head and parts of the legs.

Police released a photo of the tattoo, which was found on the left thigh of the body.

The New York City Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing.
