HEMPSTEAD (WABC) -- Police have arrested a man who they say fatally struck a teenager in the neck with a machete during an argument in Hempstead.

Nassau County Police said 45-year-old David Sadler is charged with second degree-murder charge in the death of 17-year-old Terrance Grier.

"He won't jump anyone else again, let's put it that way," said Sadler, "everyone saw it. They know what happened - they didn't do anything about it"

Police aren't saying whether 17-year-old Terrance Grier ever robbed Sadler. However they do know that the two lived on the same block in Hempstead.

Sources tell Eyewitness News that on Friday, Sadler allegedly waited for Grier to walk down the street right in front of Sadler's home, and then confronted him.

According to police, the two got into an argument, and then Sadler sliced the teen in the neck with a machete.

When Sadler was asked where he got the machete, he laughed and said he got it on Craigslist.

Grier's infuriated family was in court when Sadler went before a judge. Grier's father says he has no idea what happened previously between the two, but that his son does not deserve this.

Sadler is being charged with Second Degree Murder. He pled not guilty, and is being held without bail.
