NEW HYDE PARK (WABC) -- A Long Island teenager is set to be arraigned Thursday in a crash that killed a father, and injured the victim's wife and daughter.
The two-vehicle accident occurred in New Hyde Park at approximately 11:30 Tuesday night.
According to police, the victim, a 55-year old man, was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion on Covert Avenue with his 38-year-old wife and 6-year-old daughter when they were struck by a 2003 Toyota Camry.
Detectives report that the Camry collided with the vehicle, killing the driver.
The victim's wife, who was found unconscious, and their daughter were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The Camry was being driven by Deepak Kumar, 17, of New Hyde Park. He was accompanied by four other passengers.
The extent of the injuries to the other passengers is unknown.
Kumar was found to be in an intoxicated condition and was placed under arrest at the scene. He's charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
