Woman fights off rape attempt in lobby of Manhattan building

EAST VILLAGE (WABC) -- Police in Manhattan have arrested a man wanted in the attempted rape of a woman in her apartment building over the weekend.

Dominique Brown, 20, of New York City, has been charged with rape, burglary and sex abuse, according to the New York City Police Department.

Detectives said the suspect followed the woman into her East Village apartment building around 3 a.m. Saturday, and attacked her in the lobby. The 25-year-old victim fought back and the suspect took off. She was not hurt.
