Man fatally shot outside deli in Hamilton Heights

HAMILTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- A 25-year-old man was fatally shot and a 28-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in a shooting early Friday morning outside a Hamilton Heights deli.

Police officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress near West 131 Street and Amsterdam Avenue at around 5:30 a.m.

When the officers arrived they found the two men had been shot.

EMS transported the 25-year-old man to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, while the 28-year-old refused medical attention at the scene.

Police have made no arrests so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
