2 bodies found inside Bronx apartment at Grand Concourse

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- Two bodies were found inside an apartment building in the Mount Eden section.

George Benitez, 67, was discovered in the bedroom inside a sixth-floor apartment with trauma to the torso. EMS responded to the apartment building at the corner of the Grand Concourse and Rockwood Street around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Benitez apparently lived in the apartment.

A second victim, who has not been identified, was discovered in the hallway area of the apartment with trauma to the back and neck.

The New York City Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death. Police were called to the scene following a 911 call after someone spotted the bodies.

The NYPD's Crime Scene Unit remained at the scene Thursday night collecting evidence. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
