CHELSEA, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man was injured after police say he was pushed onto the subway tracks in Chelsea Sunday morning.

The incident happened at about 7:15 a.m. at Seventh Avenue and West 18th Street.

A 911 call was received for a person under a train. The train rolled over the victim who suffered minor head and foot injuries.

Sources say three men known to each other were in the subway station after a night out. One of the men told police his friend had pushed another friend onto the tracks.

Police are now looking for the man responsible for the apparent push.

Sources believe alcohol played a role in the incident. Detectives are in the station investigating.

The incident caused subway service disruptions on the 1, 2, and 3 lines.
