Man shot, 70-year-old woman assaulted in Danbury home invasion

DANBURY (WABC) -- Police in Connecticut are investigating a home invasion in which a man was shot and a woman assaulted.

The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday at the home in Danbury.

Upon arrival, officers located two victims, a 70-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man.

The investigation determined that two male suspects wearing ski masks kicked the front door in.

They then shot the 25-year-old victim in the leg before tying up the woman and physically assaulting her.

They then tied the male victim up, as well, before leaving in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash.

The female victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries and was subsequently released.

The male victim was transported to the hospital and later admitted for injuries sustained.

At this point, police say it is unclear if the victims were targeted.
