Man shot to death in AutoZone parking lot in East Flatbush

FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A 28-year-old man dollar van driver shot during a dispute in an AutoZone parking lot in East Flatbush drove himself to the nearby police precinct for help -- but later was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The victim, identified as Zavon Gordon, of Brooklyn, was shot in the chest in the parking lot at 1885 Flatbush Ave., just before 8 p.m. Thursday night.

He got into in a drawn out argument in the parking lot with another man, which got increasingly louder.

The dispute ended when the gunman shot the victim. The gunman then fled in a green or gray Mazda sedan.

Even though he was shot once in the chest, the victim got into his car and drove himself four blocks to the 63rd Precinct where he told a detective, "I've been shot."

Emergency personnel rushed him to Kings County Hospital, but he died an hour later.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance video from the AutoZone and talking to witnesses, including a security guard.
