Suffolk County police responded to a fatal shooting on Auborn Avenue in Shirley

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (WABC) -- Suffolk County Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Shirley.

According to police, around 11:30 p.m. Friday, they responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Auborn Avenue in Shirley.

The shooting victim, Jamar Lamar, 23, of Shirley, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
