NYPD seeking 2 suspects who broke into Indonesian Consulate
N.J. Burkett has the details.

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Two teenage suspects were arrested for burglarizing the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia.

16-year-old Tyanna Nunez and 18-year-old David Rivera were arrested Tuesday night after a security guard recognized them as suspects, and called police. Police say that during the course of the arrest, Rivera offered cash, the case of vodka, and the stolen van as a possible bribe.

Around 1 a.m. Tuesday at 5 East 68 St., the two suspects went into the building through an unlocked door in a back alley and took a case of vodka, a Samsung tablet, a suitcase full of clothing and keys to a van, according to the NYPD. They also used the van keys to drive off in a 2004 tan Honda Odyssey, police said.

Staff members at the consulate said that they had never seen the two before. The ambassador said the two had no access to sensitive documents or communications.

Nunez and Rivera were also charged with burglarizing a hotel room at the Marriott on Eastchester Road in the Bronx on Sunday.
