Mount Vernon basketball court vandalized

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police in Westchester County are trying to catch the culprits who destroyed part of a premiere basketball facility.

It happened at the 4th Street Playground in Mount Vernon.

A car was driven over the matting on the basketball courts.

It was just installed last month.

Police are promising the blatant act of vandalism will not go unpunished.

The city used community development block grant funds for the park rehab.

Now, tax payers will have to foot the bill for the repairs.
