CALDWELL, N.J. (WABC) -- A condo complex in Caldwell was evacuated Tuesday morning after a gas main was struck at 155 Roseland Avenue.

Police made a precautionary evacuation of the Parkview Commons Apartments after the gas line was struck at around 10 a.m.

There are four, 3 story apartment buildings in the complex.

PSE&G came to the scene to shut off the gas.

No injuries were reported.

PSE&G says a contractor was digging and struck a 1-inch plastic gas line.

Crews went to the site and made repairs to the line.

There was only 1 meter affected, and the gas was returned to service at 10:50 am.
