Non-passenger train hits car on tracks in Brentwood, 1 dead
Lucy Yang reports from Brentwood.

BRENTWOOD, Long Island (WABC) -- A non-passenger train hit a vehicle at 4th Street crossing just west of Brentwood Station at 8:05 p.m. on Monday.

The driver of the car was killed. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.

LIRR service has since been restored. Service is not expected to be impacted for the morning commute.

It is not yet known why the car was on the tracks or if the warning gates went down when they were supposed to.

Police are on the scene investigating.
