NYPD commissioner blasts Quentin Tarantino for taking part in anti-police brutality protest

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York City's top cop is blasting acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino for taking part in a protest against police brutality over the weekend.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said Monday that Tarantino should be ashamed of himself for taking part in such a rally a week after a New York City police officer was shot and killed.

"Shame on him, particularly at the time we are grieving the murder of an NYPD officer. There are no words I have to describe the contempt I have for him and his comments at this particular time," Bratton said.

Tarantino joined activists in the West Village on Saturday. He equated shootings at the hands of police to "murder."

PBA President Pat Lynch is calling for a boycott of Tarantino films.

Tarantino said the timing of Saturday's rally was unfortunate.
