BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man in connection with a hit-and-run in the Bronx that was caught on camera.

Aracelis Criollo, 51, was crossing the street in the 500 block of Jackson Avenue in the Mott Haven section around 10:30 a.m. on August 19 when a gray Honda backed into her, knocking her to the ground.

She said the car was double parked and was not moving at all when she started across the street.

The driver of the Honda got out of the vehicle, approached the victim and returned to his car. He then fled the scene.

"I don't know why he stopped if he wasn't going to stay and help me," Criollo said. "I really don't know."

Perhaps it was to scold her for getting in his way. She says that's what it felt like when he yelled at her and demanded that she get up off the ground.

"He came out angry," she said. "He came out, you saw that he was upset. He wasn't apologetic or nothing."

Criollo says the car caught her off guard, but not as much as his attitude.

"He was pointing at me down on the ground," she said. "I'm injured on the grpund, and you can see him looking down at me like I didn't matter. That's how I felt."

The suspect is described as a black male last seen wearing brown cargo shorts, a gray tank top and white sneakers.

Criollo, a grandmother of three, had been preparing to take her oldest grandson to the pool when she was hit. She was struck on her left side, but her right leg took the brunt after the impact threw her down on the pavement.

"I was in shock," she said. "I couldn't believe I got hit by a car."

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
