OHIO (WABC) -- A missing Ohio toddler was found alive and unharmed after she wandered out of her great grandparents' home.

It was a happy ending to a harrowing ordeal for the family of Rainn Peterson. The 2-year-old was found just over a half mile from where she first disappeared.

The toddler's great grandparents first reported her missing just after 7:30 Friday evening.

They told the police that Rainn had wandered out of their Ohio home, where she lives with two other siblings.

Hundreds of volunteers joined the massive weekend-long hunt, which expanded into Pennsylvania.

Rainn's family pleaded for her safe return saying, "It's the worst feeling in the world."

Just before nightfall on Sunday, a volunteer on a four-wheeler spotted the child asleep in the tall grass.

Authorities took the wet and cold child to the hospital. as police continue to investigate how she went missing.

Now, Rainn's relatives and neighbors are all breathing a sigh of relief.
