Police: Man shot to death in NJ, vehicle stolen with 1-year-old inside

PENNS GROVE, NJ -- Salem County, New Jersey officials are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed a father before fleeing in the victim's vehicle with his 1-year-old son inside.

It happened near Broad and Church streets around 4 p.m. Saturday in Penns Grove, New Jersey.

Police say a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times.

He was rushed to Memorial Hospital of Salem County where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say the suspect drove off in the victim's Volkswagen Jetta, with the victim's 1-year-old son inside. The suspect then abandoned the vehicle at 5th and Wood in Philadelphia, and left the child inside.

The child is OK.

The suspect remains at large.
