Man outside Queens school tries to lure nine-year-old student, police say
A.J. Ross has the latest on the attempted abduction of a student at P.S. 129.

COLLEGE POINT, Queens (WABC) -- A 9-year-old girl said she was approached by a man while walking into her Queens school Friday morning. Turns out, that man is the husband of the day care that the child attends.

She reported that a stranger walked up to her outside P.S. 129 on Seventh Avenue around 8 a.m.

A warning from police Friday:

He reportedly asked her where her mother was, then told her he wanted to go with her and look for her mom.

She ran away and into the school, and the man then got onto a Q25 bus, police said.

Detectives quickly responded and spent several hours conducting interviews and canvassing the area.

Police eventually discovered that the man is married to the owner of the day care that the little girl goes to and apparently thought she needed help finding her mother.
