Police: Seaford drunk driver hits 5 cars, leaves 2 injured

SEAFORD, NY (WABC) -- Police arrested a Seaford man who they say was involved in multiple auto accidents on April 20, one of which left another driver and passenger injured.

According to Nassau County police, 51-year-old Sean McKenna, of Seaford, was while traveling eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue when he hit five other moving vehicles.

Authorities say McKenna continued eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue until Mell Gate, when his car hit a vehicles that left the roadway and struck a mail box and then a wooden fence.

After continuing eastbound, McKenna struck a wooden power pole and came to a stop a short distance later.

When police arrived, McKenna was arrested, accused of DWI. Two bags of what is believed to be heroin were found in his vehicle, according to Nassau police.

During the multiple auto accidents, there were two reported injuries.

A 28-year-old male driver sustained a collapsed lung, lacerated spleen and a fractured pelvis, while his 24-year-old female passenger sustained a contusion to her forehead. She was treated and released.

McKenna was hospitalized for an unrelated medical condition. He faces several charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and DWI.
