Possible human remains found in Queens park
Tim Fleischer reports from Hollis, Queens.

HOLLIS, Queens (WABC) -- A skull found in a garbage bag in Hollis, Queens, is definitely human, said the Office of the Medical Examiner on Friday.

Forensic anthropologists are in the initial stages of their analysis.

The skull was found Thursday afternoon by city Parks Department employees next to a tree in Peters Field, a small Queens park, leaving neighbors shocked.

Camar Richardson, whose house is next to the park, heard them yelling. "It's really unfortunate that we have to find a bag full of bones, a skull or whatever is in the bag, you know in a child's park. It's a good park," Richardson said.

Neighbors hope the mystery can be solved.

"I hope whoever it is, they find the family, you know, I pray for them," Richardson said.
