Sachem soccer field destroyed by vandals

Long Island school's soccer fields vandalized

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. (WABC) -- Vandals caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to soccer fields on Long Island.

Someone destroyed a Sachem School District complex sometime between 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st and 7 a.m. on Sunday, November 1st.

An unknown person or persons entered the soccer field behind the Waverly Avenue Elementary School and destroyed property including light towers and picnic tables.

The soccer club estimates the damage to be around $24,000.

Sachem Youth Soccer was founded in 1977 and currently serves 1,500 kids from the Sachem community.
