BROOKLYN (WABC) -- An Orthodox school in Brooklyn was evacuated after a fire in the street.

The school at Bartlett Street was evacuated just before 11 a.m. after detecting high levels of carbon monoxide.

More than a thousand students were evacuated into the street.

The school was aired out and the carbon monoxide levels dropped.

The school also had no power.
