Carolina Leid has the story.

HIGHBRIDGE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police in the Bronx are searching for two men who beat a man with a baseball bat so brutally, that he might lose his eye.

It happened on Thursday, December 1st in front of the Go Go Gadget Mobile & More store on Jesup Avenue in the Highbridge section around 9:35 a.m.

Frank Frias doesn't know if he'll ever see out of his right eye again.

The 54-year-old was attacked by two men who refused to take no for an answer.

"I said, 'I don't buy stolen things, especially on the street, I don't buy at all.' So they start pushing me and calling me a punk, bad words to me," Frias said.

One man bashed the Bronx man in the head with a baseball bat, while the other man kicked him in the head and body.

The victim suffered pain, bruising and an injury to his right eye. He was transported by EMS to Lincoln Hospital.

Police released surveillance video of the men they're looking for, both caught on camera running away, one with a bat in hand.

Frias suffered enormous pain, bruising and life changing injuries to his right eye.

"The nerve inside is broken. I had surgery for 7 hours. 47 stiches," Frias said. "I'll have another surgery sometime next week. They're trying to save my eye. Not really sure if I'll be able to see."

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
