NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man in connection with at least 10 burglaries on the Lower East Side between July and October.

The string of burglaries seems to be centered between East Fourth Street and East 10th Street, mostly targeting a block on East Seventh. The suspect typically enters each location through a window and steals thousands in electronics.

According to investigators there have been 10 documented burglaries throughout the East Village between July 27 and Oct. 20.

The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera not far from the last home broken into in broad daylight on East Seventh Street. According to police, the suspect entered through a window and got away with $5,900 in electronics and other items.

Neighbors said they would also like to see more patrols in the general area.

"I don't see a lot of police around here. Believe it or not, I see a lot of traffic cops but I don't really see police patrols per se," said one resident.

"I feel a little ambivalent about the police presence in this neighborhood. There are times where it's shocking to me that there's not more general visibility," said another.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call (800) 577-TIPS (8477), leave them at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or text them to CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577.
