NEW YORK -- New York state lottery officials say the sole first-prize winning ticket for Tuesday's $326 million Mega Millions jackpot was sold at an Orange County gas station.

The winner bought their ticket using the Quick Pick option at the Valero gas station at 2580 Route 302 in Middletown. The owner of the station gets $10,000 from the lottery for selling it.

The announced jackpot was $321 million, but lottery officials say it grew by $5 million because of increased sales across states, making the jackpot the eighth largest prize in the game's history. It has been growing since it was last won in Calimesa, Calif., at $180 million on Aug. 22 -- 20 drawings ago.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing were 9, 15, 24, 39 and 41. The Mega Ball number was 1.

The winning ticket has not been claimed.

The winner would get $194 million if they chose the one-time cash payout.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 258,890,850, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 14.71.

The Mega Millions game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.

There were four other tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, two sold in Texas and one each in New Jersey and New York. They are each worth $1 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game, announced.
