Gov. Christie: "I am much smaller now"
The governor made the comments at a town hall meeting Wednesday.

OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. -- A woman noticed Gov. Chris Christie's weight loss Wednesday at a town hall meeting, telling the New Jersey leader that he appeared "smaller."

CNN reported that Christie responded to the woman at Ocean County meeting, saying, "I used to be bigger."

"Let's not be totally unfair, I am much smaller now than I used to be," he said.

Christie announced last year that he had lap-band surgery in February 2013.

During the meeting, another woman also addressed the governor's weight loss. "By the way, you do look fantastic," she said, leading into a question.

"God bless you," he responded as the audience applauded. "I love coming to Ocean County."

Christie also joked that his wife told him that he needs new suits, CNN reported.
