COMPTON, Calif. -- Surveillance video caught two teenagers stealing puppies out of a locked cage at a pet store in Compton.

The video shows them grabbing two puppies and stuffing them in their purses before walking out of Jazmin's Pet Shop.

"Probably they had already come in before, because they just come in and open the cage and just grab them and leave," said Erica Carreras with Jazmin's Pet Shop.

The 1 1/2-month old French poodles are worth $350 each.

The owners of the store plan to show the video to customers and neighbors in hopes someone will recognize the teens. If caught, they could face petty theft charges.

"It's weird, because they just come in, they bring them out the cage and they just walk out like it was their house, like if they were their own puppies," Carreras said.
