Water main break floods corner of Hawkins Avenue, Portion Road in Ronkonkoma

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (WABC) -- A water main break blocked the roads leading to the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road train station on Thursday.

At around midnight, water started erupting from the ground at the corner of Hawkins Avenue and Portion Road in Ronkonkoma.

The flooding eventually collapsed part of Hawkins, and 6 inches of water filled a nearby Capital One bank parking lot.

Southbound Hawkins closed briefly.
