Police searching for gunman after woman fatally shot in the Bronx

WILLIAMSBRIDGE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a woman in the Bronx early Sunday.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Margarita Franco.

At about 2:30 a.m. a call came into EMS on a report of a young woman lying unconscious in front of a residential building on East 214th Street in the Williamsbridge section.

The woman had been shot in the back of the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they have no one in custody.

Authorities are still trying to determine the motive for the killing.
