BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police in Brooklyn are hunting for a man who they say crept into a woman's third-floor bedroom and attempted to get into bed with her in what's being investigated as an attempted rape.

The incident happened just after 6:45 a.m. Saturday at a building at Greene and Irving avenues in Bushwick.

Police released new surveillance video of the suspect on Thursday evening:

Authorities say the 30-year-old victim was startled by the suspect, who had climbed into the bedroom from the fire escape. He allegedly stood over her and exposed himself before attempting to get into the bed, but the victim pushed him away and began frantically kicking, punching and screaming for help.

The victim's roommate ran into the room, and the suspect fled out the front door. The victim grabbed at the hood of his jacket, but he was able to break free and escape.

He was last seen running toward Irving Avenue.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned Hispanic man in his early 20s, about 5-foot-10 and 140 pounds with a slim build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and red sneakers.

Detectives reportedly found a half-bottle of Corona beer on the fire escape, which is being processed for fingerprints and for DNA.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
