Thief in Bronx takes woman's phone, sprays her with burning substance

Police are looking for a woman who took her victim's phone, then sprayed her with an unknown substance.

On July 7, the suspect grabbed the victim's Samsung Note 2 phone while they were standing at the corner of Westchester Avenue and Wheeler Avenue. Then the suspect sprayed her with a substance that caused the victim's eyes to burn, according to the New York City Police Department. The suspect fled and the victim was taken to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

The suspect is described as a white Hispanic woman, about 5 feet 3 inches with black hair in a long ponytail. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt, short denim blue jeans and a black hat.
