Bronx teacher charged with assault for hitting student during class
A teacher in the Bronx was charged with assault for allegedly hitting a student in the face during class.

FOXHURST, Bronx (WABC) -- A teacher in the Bronx was charged with assault for allegedly hitting a student in the face during class.

Fatai Okunola, 50, was removed from Frederick Douglas Academy in Foxhurst after he was accused of striking a 12-year-old female student.

The student and her mother reported the incident to police.

Okunola has been reassigned away from students until the outcome of his case is decided.
