YORKTOWN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A headless goat and several other animal parts were found in plastic bags at a Yorktown intersection.

According to the SPCA of Westchester, decomposed remains were found at Route 129 and Underhill Avenue on Monday.

The organization's Humane Law Enforcement Unit is conducting an investigation into a possible incident of animal cruelty.

"Several plastic bags were discovered at the site," said HLE director Ernest Lungaro. "One of which contained the body of a headless goat. The highly decomposed remains of other animals including birds were found in the remaining bags. Several of those animals had also been decapitated."

The HLE is investigating. According to Lungaro, a necropsy will be performed to determine cause of death.
