Born June 9, Chick #23, the 23rd rockhopper penguin to be born at Shedd, weighs about 4.5 pounds.

CHICAGO -- A penguin born at Shedd Aquarium is a boy, genetic tests show.

Chick 23, born on June 9, 2015, is the 23rd rockhopper penguin born at the Chicago's Shedd Aquarium. His gender was determined during a recent checkup.

He weighs about 4.5 pounds at three months and is almost as tall as an adult bird.
