BRIGHTON BEACH (WABC) -- An NYPD officer did not just rescue a kitten - he also found it a home.

Officer Passarella suffered several scratches while freeing the stray kitten that had gotten stuck inside a car engine in Brighton Beach.

Now, police officials say the little cat was cleaned up and adopted by another officer at the 60th precinct.

The family named their new kitten "Pazzy", after the officer who saved her.
