HEMPSTEAD, Long Island (WABC) -- Police on Long Island have arrested a man who they say dangled a teen over a pit bull enclosure, where the boy was mauled.

Christian Siley, 18, of Hempstead, pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on $25,000 bail.

The incident happened on Saturday night, when authorities say Siley and two other men grabbed a 14-year-old boy on Cornell Street in Hempstead and held him over the fenced-in area.

There was a pit bull in the pen, and as the victim was dangled sideways over the fence, police say the unleashed dog bit him three times on the leg.

Siley is said to know the victim, but the motive for the assault is unknown.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he received several stitches

Siley was arrested Sunday at home. The two other suspects are still being sought.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 1-800-244-TIPS.
