Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Gov. Christie is "part of our mojo"

DALLAS (WABC) -- Local football fans up in arms over New Jersey Governor Chris Christie having fun at a Dallas Cowboys game might have to go through it again.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants the governor at the team's next playoff game this weekend at Green Bay.

The Cowboys are unbeaten this season with Christie in attendance, and Jones says "He's part of our mojo".

Jones says Christie is good luck, and he'll do anything he can to get the governor to the game on Sunday.

"I want him there all the way. I'll tell you, if he's got enough mojo to pull this thing out, he ought to be looked at as president of the United States."

Christie has been the target of ethics complaints after he was seen in the owner's box during last Sunday's Cowboys game.

The joint legislative committee that led an investigation into the George Washington Bridge scandal is considering looking into Christie's free tickets and travel to Dallas for Cowboys games.

Democratic Assemblyman John Wisniewski (wiz-NOO'-skee) says he and co-chairwoman Loretta Weinberg have discussed probing whether the Republican governor violated state ethics rules when he accepted tickets from Jones.

Wisniewski says this is "precisely the type of behavior that is within the jurisdiction of the committee's scope of authority." He pointed to a Wall Street Journal story reporting that the Cowboys co-own a company that received a contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Christie's office says he's allowed to accept gifts from friends and the governor has fully complied with state rules.
