Kim Kardashian West received criticism over social media posts on Monday stating that she was standing with President Obama in the midterm election.

The posts on Twitter and Instagram featured an animated version of Kim and President Obama standing side-by-side with the message "I'm standing w Obama in the midterm election 2morrow! Find out what u need to cast ur ballot."

However, many pointed out to the reality television star that President Obama was not running for any seat in the midterm elections on Tuesday.

The next U.S. presidential elections will take place in 2016, but President Obama will not be able to run again as he has already been elected for two terms. While Kim did not directly state that she would be voting for President Obama in Tuesday's midterm election, her tweet came across as confusing to her online audience.
