Mayor de Blasio signs bill to reduce speed limit to 25 mph in New York City

New York City is one step closer to reducing the speed limit to 25 miles an hour.

Mayor de Blasio has signed the measure known officially as "INTRO 466-A" into law Monday morning.

It does not officially take effect until Nov. 7.

The law is a key part of the mayor's vision zero plan to eliminate traffic-related deaths.
