PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WABC) -- New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio took the stage at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday, and focused his speech on the differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

"As a New Yorker, I'm quite familiar with both presidential nominees," de Blasio said. "But despite sharing a home state, these two people are worlds apart."

De Blasio's speech touched on everything from their careers and achievements to 9/11 and the candidates' demeanor.

"When Hillary Clinton was First Lady, she made it her personal mission to take on the insurance giants to get health care for every American," de Blasio said of Clinton.

Every Clinton highlight was countered with a negative Trump point.

"Who did Donald take on? The small business owners he contracted with on his real estate projects. Too many times, Donald simply STIFFED them," de Blasio said.

De Blasio picked four words to describe each candidate:

HILLARY CLINTON: "She's smart. She's steady. She's right. And she's ready!"

DONALD TRUMP: "He's reckless. He's risky. He's wrong. And he's scary!"
