Up Close: Iran nuclear deal
Bill Ritter talks with Rep. Peter King of Long Island about the Iran nuclear agreement.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The stage is now set for what will likely be a monumental debate, with monumental implications around the world.

Opponents of President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran, including U.S. Senator from New York Charles Schumer, say the agreement might green light Iran becoming a nuclear state.

But New York's other U.S. Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, who supports the deal, says if Iran cheats, the U.S. can easily re-impose devastating economic sanctions.

The debate has divided the two Democratic senators who are usually on the same page on major issues.

Joining us this week is Rep. Peter King from his office in Massapequa Park in Nassau County.

King is on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and got a classified briefing on the deal from Secretary of State John Kerry.

Also this week, the Legionnaires' Disease outbreak in New York City has killed at least 12 people, and sickened more than 100 others.

At least 20 cooling towers have tested positive, but the exact towers actually responsible for infecting people are not yet clear.

With us to discuss the outbreak is ABC's chief health and medical editor Dr. Richard Besser.

Finally, we'll discuss the presidential campaign, in particular GOP candidate and New York native Donald Trump, with our political analysts: Jeanne Zaino, political science professor at Iona college and at NYU, and Hank Sheinkopf, a Democratic political consultant and strategist.
