NEW YORK (WABC) -- Labor Days sales are in full swing beginning Friday and they last well past Monday's holiday.

Most Labor Day sales start this weekend and extend through Sept. 6, combined with back-to-school bargains, it's primetime for laptops, too.

And, while deals on some items will get better after September, there are some you've got to jump on now!

End-of-season clearance deals mean steals on items like clothing or a new swing set.

If you need an air conditioner, a grill or patio furniture, buy now!

Mark LoCastro of Dealnews.com said one of the other hottest sale items for Labor Day is mattresses. Sleepys is having a half-off online sale or in-store sales starting at $300.

Sales won't be this good until Black Friday in November.

But as for technology, LoCastro said if you're eyeing an iPhone or iPad, hold off for now.

"It's rumored that two new devices will be introduced in early September, the iPhone 6 and iPad, and when this happens the previously generated models get significant discounts," he said.

Remember certified resellers like Best Buy offer better deals than the Apple store. Best Buy is also discounting major appliances for Labor Day week.

It is offering 30 percent off all major appliances, but if you can wait until next month, the amount of editor's choice deals will double, which makes November the best time of year to buy large appliances.

The same goes for TVs. There are great deals now as we settle into sports seasons and kick off a new season of favorite shows.

Black Friday is 90 days away and that is the absolute best time of the year, but if you need one now there are deals out there!

As school starts, more caffeine might be in order. Keurig users should stock up now on their pressure K-cups!

"Keurig just announced a 9 percent price hike on their K cups starting November 3rd.

Speaking off coffee, remember that Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day. Last year, Dunkin', Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, 7-11 and Wawa offered free coffee.
