Shoppers hunt for last-minute bargains
Darla Miles reports from a Jersey City mall on the Christmas Eve shopping rush.

Do you have some last-minute Christmas shopping to do? With time running out, retailers and shoppers are in the frantic final hours.

To accommodate all of the shoppers who want to cross off their lists and grab some last-minute deals, some stores have been open 24 hours a day all week.

The Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst was among them, and there were no lines or shoppers early Thursday morning.

Eyewitness News reporter Kala Rama did a little shopping:

Last-minute shoppers get some of the best deals. Jewelry is up to 56 percent off, clothes are 40 percent off and there is a 30 percent savings on shoes. Items like cookware, computers and toys are 40 percent cheaper than on Black Friday.

Two places to find the best savings are holiday decorations and winter clothes sales.

Liliana Vazquez, who works at Forever 21, said Thursday, "Today was worse than Black Friday ... today was buy, buy, buy."

Keep in mind of course, the shoppers who wait until late Christmas Eve will likely find themselves running to stores in the rain.
