SAN FRANCISCO (WABC) -- Could it work for New York?

In San Francisco, city officials are testing urine-repellent paint to see if it discourages people from urinating in public.

Officials say they sometimes feel like they are fighting a losing battle against public urination, so they decided to test the new paint coating.

The water repellent is said to be so strong that liquid bounces off of it.

City officials say they will test the coating on up to 10 city-owned walls to evaluate its effectiveness.
